Amy Foster is currently an elementary teacher at West Forest Intermediate School in Opelika, Al. She has been employed with the Opelika City School System for 17 years and has taught sixth grade history for 15 years at Opelika Middle School. Amy graduated from Auburn University with a B.A. degree in elementary education. She received her M.A. degree in elementary education from Troy State University.

Opelika Middle School serves approximately 1100 students in grades 6-8. The students in this sixth grade class are on-grade level, with three students receiving special education services. Classes meet on a 50 minute rotating schedule. The 1920s unit is part of the 20th Century American History sixth grade curriculum.
